I had my long-time IT guy build me a new PC for my office a year ago. I had been using 1 year old Toshiba laptops with WAY TOO MANY USB hookups * from the laptop and a hub. By creating my own PC, I could have it designed to be specific to my needs. I included a HEAVY graphics card and a built-in drive backup.
I asked for a NEW monitor for the set-up and he asked me if I wanted to use my old monitor as a SECOND monitor....I had no clue what I would do with TWO*TWO*TWO monitors.
I found fairly quickly that I L♥VED the second monitor * I ROCK ActiveRain on it AND I can multi-task with it. I had my lease renewal excel spreadsheet up on it last week while I was writing the renewal/increase letters on the other.
I'm not sure about Windows 7 * but for XP, there is an easy DISPLAY setting that can be set to open multiple programs and applications and have them appear on a monitor of your choice.
