Wrecks are a part of NASCAR * not particularly a FUN part * I remember where I was when I heard Dale Sr had crashed at Daytona (the RIC airport baggage carousel) so seeing them over and over on TV is memorable....some CRASH pictures from 2009 This is the second Daytona race where Kasey Kaine wrecked and took out Kyle Busch as the same time. VA driver Elliott Sadler scrapes by in the #19 Night All-Star race from Lowe's with Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon, Ryan Newman, Math Kenseth AND Carl Edwards Horrible wreck of Carl Edwards where he actually got out of his car and WALKED across the finish line JR takes a BAD left turn at Fontana * must have been a tire!!! JR wrecks at Phoenix Ryan Newman's wreck at Talladega where he landed on his head. JR, Robbie Gordon, Kyle Busch and Brian Vickers wreck at Daytona I disagree with the critics. The COT has made for BETTER, SAFER and MORE EXCITING racing!!!

Here's to safer racing and c'mon Daytona! BTW the saddest wreck to me in '09 was when Jimmie Johnson was taken out in lap 3 of the Texas Motorspeedway ~ I was there =(
Wallace ....I seen all those wrecks on T.V. but one ...I video recorded the all star wreck myself at the track... I think the COT has made better and safer racing also....peace zane
I think the worse one was Michael McDowell in the 00 in qualifying a few years ago....it was SO unexpected since it was in qualifying. I remember the pieces shredding all over the racetrack
It was certainly one of those Where-Were-You-When-You-Heard moments....I was returning from teaching in CO and was at the RIC airport baggage claim and people were talking about it. I tried to find radio coverage on the 1+ hour drive home and could only get news from NPR on NASCAR and remember thinking how FUNNY is that. I did not realize it was so bad until I returned home and saw the TV coverage.
