UVa #1 among public universities for "best value" by USAToday

The Princeton Review teamed with USA Today to name the University of Virginia #1 for the second year among 50 "best value" public colleges and universities. Virginia Tech in Blacksburg was named #8.  Out of 100 colleges and universities listed, 8 are in Virginia.

In another milestone, UVA named it's eighth and first FEMALE president Monday.  Teresa A. Sullivan was voted to succeed John T. Casteen as UVA's president.  UVA is Virginia's higher education flagship.  Sullivan is coming to UVa from the provost position at the University of Michigan.

I'll bet UVa Tech games at your house are FUN!!  I actually know undergrads who got into both and elect to go to Tech and come to UVa for grad school

I wonder what "best value" means. Considering the stature of the degrees, I just can't see New College of Florida ranking higher than Florida and Florida State. It must really be "new." I've never heard of it.

Jim * the PUBLIC classification includes the use of public and private funds....UVA has HUGE endowments * cash and LAND around Charlottesville and the state....these land values have not declined as most are immediately surrounding the expanding UVa Medical Center or larger land parcels (John Kluge has given hundreds of acres) that can be developed.....on the downside, having them belong to UVa takes them off the tax rolls which is a burden to Charlottesville and Albemarle county citizens,
