Let's put THESE guys in charge of Homeland Security!!!

During the blizzard on Saturday, 2 James Madison University students allegedly pelted a city plow and police car with snowballs.

Both Students were arrested by the Harrisonburg, VA police after the plow operator called and reported the assault. When the police arrived, the 2 JMU students then threw snow balls at their unmarked police car.

Both students were arrested and charged with throwing missiles at occupied vehicles - a felony with penalties ranging from between 1 to 5 years and max $2500 fine.

JMU students are not the brightest AND I suspect some moonshine might have been involved.

Maybe - 2, big, acne faced, white kids * the fact that they were at JMU may be the give away though!

Snowballs?  Throwing snowballs at a car is a felony?  Gee whiz, could it be I became a felon at the tender age of seven?

Does anybody remember scitching?  That's what kids used to do before clearing the snow off side streets became mandatory in Chicago in order for mayors to keep being mayor.  The kids would grab onto the bumper of the slow-moving cars for a sliding tow - until the driver realized he had three short knuckleheads latched to the rear bumper and got out to chase them away.

Ahh, the good old days when we were too young and stupid to even know we were felons.

I heard that today also Wallace.  I did know it was a felony.  One kid in my sons school was arrested for throwing a rock at a school bus.  It was not real big and did not do damage, but nevertheless it was a projectile.

Wallace,

While not the bigheest move, snowballs equate to "misssles"? What does a spitball rate? :)

I suspect they knew it was the cops and that their dad probably hunt with the local judge...They were TARGETS OF OPPORTUNITY!!!

I guess the statue has run since my felony days of launching snow missles at cars...  and police officers in smooth soled shoes trying to chase kids in snow suits with boots.  We were WAY faster down hill, and he couldn't go uphill at all.

This is a total overreaction to the circumstances and I suspect the judge may let them off or dismiss the charges.

For my part I think it's cool to throw snowballs at friends who want to snowball fight. It's almost never appropriate to throw snowballs at strangers.

Guess growing up during he Viet Nam era, when there were other things college age men were concerned with, that a snowball thrown at a snow plow or police car was not the WORST that could happen.
