Yes....there ARE NASCAR races outside of the US....there are Nationwide races on the road courses in Mexico and Canada and there has been a race in Japan.
Better television coverage through cable partners and better logistics to get the cars through customs at the HUGE UPS facility on the Texas/Mexico boarder make these events easier to stage and televise.

wow i always think of NASCAR as US only, thanks for the info.
I've been impressed with all of your insight on NASCAR the last few days! Very nice!
Guys * Tomorrow is the GREAT AMERICAN RACE from FREEZING DAYTONA!!!! 1P on Fox....pre-race entertainment is Tim McGraw and national anthem sung by Harry Connick, Jr.
I'm still trying to wrap my mind around sending a NASCAR race car via UPS. What do you do? Drop it off at your local UPS store, fill out a form and have them box it?
Anyway, I'm pumped. My allegence is with Jimmy J.. But my hopes are with Danica P. next year. Sorry JJ, but I am what I am...
Danica will race TODAY at 1P in the Nationwide race at Daytona.
HeHeHe * There is a HUGE USPS/Customs facility in TX on the Mexican border that teams must have their haulers, cars, equipment, etc. go through - it takes DAYS to get 40+ teams through the facility...I'm sure NASCAR pays for the extra manpower.
