Be CAREFUL who you try to FRIEND on FB! Man in JAIL for Violating Protective Order

I kid you not....a man in Florida is in jail for violating a protective order in favor of his wife because he tried to FRIEND her on FaceBook!!!!

Having a "policy" on these types of issues may be in order for businesses and real estate professionals.

Could this be the NEXT basis for a fair housing complaint?

That's incredible Wallace.  Sometimes it seems you just don't know which way to turn, what to do or what not to do.

Charita * because of the photo capability of FB, I suspect this will be furtile ground for fair housing complaints.  Twitter not so much because anyone can follow tweets

Wallace,

Some Facebook "friends" aren't the brightest bulbs on the marquee.

Hi Wallace,

I try not to be friends with my clients or my tenants on FB because they inevitably want to discuss business on my wall or message me!  It is supposed to be my fun place where I visit with people and relax! My posts to AR do feed into my notes on FB. I am thinking of taking those off just to protect myself from fair housing complaints. Anyone can read them wrong and think I am directing it to them! Thanks for this warning message.

I think it is more of who you don't "friend" and that the term "friend" may not be operative in a business situation
