Hurricane emergency supply list

Last time we had a REAL hurricane, I was in Hawaii and returned home to VA with a generator running our AC, well and refrigerator.  This time, I'll have a whole house generator in case the power goes out.  I'm hoping for only for some much-needed RAIN!!!

Wallace...good points for all along the East Coast & maybe parts of inner Western states;  Your personal points speaking to the generator option & the reasons for using it are important for those most often not considered in the wake of a Hurricane; that along with the re-post of the items needed [steps to take] is also very important.

I can't imagine!  It must be very scary!  The closest thing I've lived through is  a tornado that touched close by where we lived.
