For some reason, this year, I have several tenant move-ins with PODS....they want the PODS unit delivered the day before their move in, then they arrive and have their moving crew move their belongings into the property and the PODS is picked up next day.....I am trying to make sure that the PODS is placed in the driveway and not on the street although the delivery truck may not be able to make some of the driveways with grades and/or long driveways.
I'm looking for experience and suggestions I can give residents so that these do not become a problem in tight spaces or when delivery is delayed!!

Just had a tenant move out with a pod this weekend. I didn't know it was happening - but when I arrived, I saw the bod had been placed on 2x4's to minimize the damage to the driveway and I was happy. I think these are becoming pretty standard.
The 2 x 4's is a good idea. I would not let a tenant put anything on the property until the lease is signed and the rent started.
It is arriving on the 11th and tenants arrive on the 12th and I provided names of 2 local movers they could contact to unload the POD...I'd REALLY like to be there when it arrives just to see how it is off loaded. 2x4s is a good idea and I don't know if they are standard....I'll go by on the 12th to see it as it is unloaded.
When I next re-write my Resident Handbook* probably this winter, I'll address moving in procedures and that oversized tractor trailers and turning radius be taken into consideration.
